Absolutely amazing venue. One of the only ones that would accept our motorbike group to camp. Location is stunning, decent little shop and cafe the food is really nice and the staff are lovely. Very good showers and toilets and a good amount of Activities to do. I will be bringing the kids back next summer. 10/10
Visited this place in August during kids holidays and had a very good experience. Lots of activities for KIDS. This was our 2nd campings experience and was impressed with the facilities at this site. I wish we had stayed here longer.
Beautiful lake with water activities like renting boat, canoe and surf boards. Good cafeteria with decent food and drinks. Very reasonable price considering the facilities they provide. Highly recommended. Will stay longer on our next visit.
Dropped in here for a night on the way home from Scotland, just wanted to break the journey but I'm so glad we did. It's off season so was nice and quiet for us, facilities are great and really clean. There's a cafe for breakfasts and pizzas and loads of activities, I imagine it's buzzing in the summer and great for families. Super location, friendly check-in - we'll be back on our next trip north.
Great campsite, beautiful location, good facilities.
Busy in the summer but still spacious.
Loved the direct access to the lake and water sports hire.
Perfect base for some stunning walks and a brilliant child friendly walk to Pooley Bridge for dinner.
Only criticism would be the play area is very small and needs a bit of TLC.
Lake side camping experience of a lifetime, amazing views, made new friends and had a campfire on the beach, fighter jets graced us with their cool moves and wild swimming at its best. Would definitely return here next summer. Facilities are also pretty good.
The glamping pods are warm and clean.
The teepees are well equipped and have the best views.
The rest of the campsite is clean and there is a strict quiet time after 11. Owners live on site.
Beautiful view of the lake.
In the seasonal month there's a cafe too. The facilities are clean and well kept.
Walking distance of pooley bridge where you can get supplies and dinner.
Decided on our travel home to stop over for a night, as this was to check it out for a holiday next year. We arrived without booking but unfortunately on the day we arrived the normal staff were all away so had to book online which was fine as the lady wasn't sure how to book a pitch out on the system. There was an issue with the pitch we booked as someone was there already, but this was resolved easily as there was one other free space further along.
We decided to pay for the premium loch side pitch to be on the water. Which for the night was £45 as it's low season. On a bank holiday this would be £70 a night with a minimum 3 nights. So not a cheap place at all.
You get a tap and electric on your pitch although the tap is shared between the two pitches so you couldn't run it directly to your vehicle as this would stop your neighbour from using it. They were also very small pitches for being premium and felt even smaller once the 2 pitches either side were occupied. It felt like we were in their space when outside, it included an awning but if we had put this up it would have nearly touched the neighbours van. The pitches nearer the showers did seem to look a bit bigger. Also a long walk back to the toilets/showers from this end which were all very smart and new also clean at all times. I did use the showers, It was nice and warm once I got the hot water to come through. The button is a bit weird I think you're supposed to just wave your hand or something but never quite got it sussed as to the correct method. Overall it was a nice place to wake up looking over the water but wouldn't see ourselves returning next year as we didn't feel the price was reflected in the experience. Maybe if you were further back but again once you add an awning etc you could be paying £39 a night low season price. Great for water sports as there were rentals available onsite if you needed and food onsite. The food is just 3 days Friday Saturday and Sunday in low season.
Absolutely stunning site.
You've got choices of lakeside pitches, glamping, camping, hook ups.
On site shop and eat in or take away food which is all there own farm produce. Stunning place
